Who we are

VariantPro is a Shopify app operated by 16255281 Canada Inc. It lets merchants split their storefront traffic between two pages and compare the results.

What we collect from merchants

When you install the app we store your store’s myshopify.com domain, store name, contact email, currency, and an access token that lets the app work on your behalf. We also store the tests you create.

What we collect from your visitors

To measure a test we need to know which version a visitor saw and whether they bought. For each visitor we store:

• A randomly generated visitor identifier, held in a first-party cookie on your store’s domain. It is not derived from anything about the person and is not linked to a Shopify customer account.
• Which variant of which test they were assigned to.
• Their device category: desktop, mobile, or tablet.
• For completed orders: the Shopify order identifier, the order total, and the currency.

We do not collect names, email addresses, postal addresses, phone numbers, payment details, IP addresses, or the contents of an order. We do not build profiles of individual shoppers, and we do not sell, rent, or share this data with anyone.

Cookies

The app sets up to three first-party cookies on your storefront, each lasting one year: a random visitor identifier, the variant assignments for that visitor, and a record of which assignments have already been reported. They exist solely to keep a visitor on the same version of a page and to avoid counting them twice. They are not used for advertising.

Where data is held

Data is stored in a Postgres database hosted by Neon in the United States, and the application runs on Vercel. Both providers act as processors on our behalf.

How long we keep it

Test results are kept while the app is installed so you can look back at past experiments. If you uninstall the app, Shopify notifies us and we delete your store’s data 48 hours later, unless you reinstall within that window. You can delete an individual test and all of its results from the dashboard at any time.

Data requests

We support Shopify’s mandatory data request, customer redaction, and shop redaction webhooks. Because the app holds no information that identifies a shopper, a customer data request returns nothing to disclose and a customer redaction has nothing to erase.
